Our Holy Father

 

As the world watched Pope John Paul II suffer his illness, which eventually led to his death, let us remember that he preached in his frail body Christ crucified.

 

Cardinal Ratzinger has said that, “Pain joined to Christ is decisive for the world. "

 

Our Pope was a powerful witness in a world that seeks in vain to banish suffering. Holy Church teaches that "Love can embrace pain and survive with enough vigor to provide all mankind with rivers of redemptive grace." (Donald DeMarco)

 

 

Veil of Innocence expresses gratitude to the Holy Father,
for reminding us that suffering is redemptive.

 

Veil of Innocence thanks God for the life of Pope John Paul II. As he enters eternity, we entrust our Holy Father John Paul II to the tender mercies of God the Father.

May John Paul II return to Him who formed him from the dust. May Holy Mary and the angels and the saints come to meet him. May Christ, who was crucified for us, bring him freedom and peace.

- Prayer of the Holy Father -

O Mary, Mother of Mercy, watch over all people that the cross of Christ may not be emptied of its power, that man may not stray from the path of good or become blind to sin, but may put his hope ever more fully in God who is rich in mercy. May each person carry out the good works prepared by God beforehand and so live completely for the praise of His glory. Amen.
