Dear Alice:

Following on Cardinal Law's letter of September 2nd, I want to add my own words of thanks for the work you did in preparing the most interesting and helpful report on sexuality education. As I promised you, I did give a great deal of attention to it over the summer and I was able then to discuss it more detail with the Cardinal in August.

As part of the follow-up to this, I plan to bring together a group of persons who have both responsibility and interest in this particular area. I have your text. What I would appreciate, is your permission to reproduce it and distribute it to a small group of four to six persons so that we may look at it in greater detail. If by chance you have extra copies that would save my having to photocopy it, so much the better. I would be happy to reimburse you for any cost. At the moment, what I want is first to let you know of our follow-up and second to see to it that you have no objection to our using your text in this way.

Please give my best to Ed and to the children. You are often in my thoughts and prayers.

Your sincerely,

Fondly, Bill
Reverend Monsignor William F. Murphy
Secretary for Community Relations
